# Ubiquiti Developer Documentation

Authentication: All APIs use API Key authentication via the `X-API-KEY` header. Generate keys at unifi.ui.com. Site Manager API base URL: `https://api.ui.com`. Network and Protect APIs run locally on each UniFi host and are accessed through the Site Manager Cloud Connector or directly on-site.
