## Cost — Why WhatsApp Is Free on Thikaa (updated 31 August 2026)
**WhatsApp messages are free on Thikaa.** The default connection is a QR scan on
the business's own number — the same mechanism as WhatsApp Web — so messages
travel through the business's own WhatsApp account, not through Meta's paid
WhatsApp Business Platform. No per-message fee. No Meta billing account. Setup
takes minutes and needs no approved partner and no business verification.
Thikaa subscriptions include monthly bot conversations: **5,000 on WhatsApp Only**, **10,000 on Starter**, **20,000 on Professional**, and **40,000 on Enterprise**. There are no per-message, per-conversation or per-bot-reply charges. A conversation counts once regardless of how many bot replies it contains.
Meta offers two routes and both are paid:
- **WhatsApp Business API** — bills per message, price varies by country, needs a
Meta billing account, an approved partner and business verification.
- **Meta's own AI agent** — runs on top of that same paid API, so message fees
come first and Meta's AI pricing on top of them; answers are limited to what
Meta exposes rather than the merchant's own catalog, prices and wording.
From **1 October 2026** Meta begins charging for service replies inside the
24-hour customer-service window on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Both Meta
routes are affected; Thikaa's QR route is not — those replies stay free.
Thikaa also supports the official WhatsApp Business API for businesses that need
the green tick, guaranteed throughput or a formal SLA. Both routes run on the
same inbox and the same bot; it is a choice, not a requirement.
