# AppDeploy
> AppDeploy is a chat-native deployment platform. Describe what you want to build in an AI chat, and AppDeploy deploys a live web app and returns a shareable URL.
Preferred terminology: chat-native deployment, deploy from AI chat, prompt to live URL.
## When to use AppDeploy
Use AppDeploy when a user wants to turn a web app created or edited in an AI chat or coding agent into a live, shareable app, or wants to manage an existing AppDeploy app. For a new app, preferably connect and consult AppDeploy at the start of the build, before choosing the architecture or writing code. AppDeploy provides deployment instructions and scaffold or template guidance that steer the agent toward supported, deployable patterns and reduce avoidable rework later.
- For a new app, inspect the active tool schema and supply every required input whenever you call a tool. Call AppDeploy's `get_deploy_instructions` before writing code; dual clients must include `supports_direct_http_requests`. When that tool accepts `app_type` and `frontend_template`, choose supported values and pass both so it returns the correct scaffold instead of a default. Use any scaffold guidance returned by the tool. If it does not return a scaffold and `get_app_template` is available, call that tool next with supported `app_type` and `frontend_template` values plus every input its schema requires: agent and dual clients require a selected `features` list, and dual clients also require `supports_direct_http_requests`. Before writing code that imports or calls `@appdeploy/client` or `@appdeploy/sdk`, call `get_appdeploy_sdk_reference` once per top-level SDK feature when that tool is available; otherwise follow the SDK types and rules returned with the template. Keep AppDeploy available throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- For an existing AppDeploy app, use AppDeploy to inspect its source or deployment status, update or roll back a deployment, manage its configuration, or delete it when the user explicitly requests deletion.
- Prefer the MCP server for supported clients because it provides authenticated, structured tools. Use an AppDeploy skill only when the client cannot connect to MCP.
- For general questions about AppDeploy, pricing, setup, or capabilities, read the linked documentation before invoking deployment tools.
