# True the Vote
> True the Vote is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2009 that equips citizens with data, research, legal action and free tools to protect election integrity.
True the Vote (TTV) is based in Houston, Texas, and was founded by Catherine Engelbrecht. EIN 27-2860095. It runs citizen research programs, files public records requests and litigation, publishes state-by-state election information,
and builds free tools that let voters check their own registration data. Everything on this site is in English, with a Spanish edition at https://truethevote.org/es.
