## Overview
TourneyCentral was founded in 1999 by Gerard McLean of Rivershark, Inc., after a frustrating experience trying to find his daughter's game at a tournament with no clear schedule or maps. The platform was built around a single guiding question: how do you get parents and grandparents to their kids' games on time?
The answer led to a full tournament operations platform. TourneyCentral is exclusively focused on competitive youth soccer tournaments — not leagues, not rankings, not recreational events. Every feature is built around the needs of guest teams, their families, and fans.
Each tournament runs under its own branded subdomain (e.g., cantoncup.tourneycentral.com), keeping all operations within the tournament's identity. No redirects to third-party sites for scheduling, hotels, or team information.

A "participating team" is any team scheduled in the event, including host club, guest, comped, or discounted teams. Teams that drop after being scheduled still count for invoicing.
