# The Weekly Thing
> A weekly newsletter by Jamie Thingelstad. Since May 2017, one curious person sifts through the internet and sends the things worth your time. Not an algorithm. Not a feed. Just considered curation.
The Weekly Thing is written and curated by Jamie Thingelstad (https://www.thingelstad.com). It has been published almost every weekend since May 13, 2017, with two scheduled breaks each year: roughly July through August, and mid-December through mid-January.
Each issue includes several recurring sections:
- **Notable** — a small number of editorially selected links, each with commentary.
- **Briefly** — shorter items, usually a bolded link plus a sentence of context.
- **Microposts / Microblog updates** — short notes, photos, and personal updates from the week.
- **Featured** — occasional longer features or essays.
Only links inside dedicated editorial sections (Notable, Briefly, Featured, etc.) are counted in the archive's link and domain stats. Inline links in commentary and microposts are intentionally excluded.
Archive stats:
- Total issues: 354
- Total curated links: 6,510
- Unique domains: 2,998
- Total words: 882,043
- First issue: May 13, 2017
- Latest issue: October 10, 2026
- Years active: 10
