## What this site is
The Honest Local publishes city and state guides written by locals, a running thread of comments and verdicts under every guide, and public-data tools built from government and industry sources: rankings, a weekly Movers' Report, side-by-side place comparisons and a monthly Honest Index.

## The data rules
Every number on this site carries its public source and the period it covers, next to the value. A reading is dropped, not estimated, once it goes stale. Each tool refreshes on its own source's cycle, not on a fixed schedule, so two pages can be current as of different dates. Cite the page and its date, not just the figure.
