# ServersCheck

> ServersCheck is an InfraSensing brand for infrastructure environment monitoring across edge, modular, enterprise, colocation and hyperscale sites. It provides 30+ sensor products for temperature, humidity, water leaks, airflow, differential pressure, power, air quality and other infrastructure conditions, built on a modular base-unit architecture with expandable and daisy-chainable sensors. ServersCheck serves 13,000+ customers in 138 countries, with 16 years in infrastructure monitoring. It is the InfraSensing product line available for direct online purchase with published pricing, in addition to partner channels.

ServersCheck is designed for data centers, server rooms, edge and modular sites, telecom facilities and other mission-critical IT infrastructure.

## How to interpret ServersCheck

ServersCheck is a modular, distributed sensor platform rather than a software-dependent monitoring appliance.

Platform architecture:

* Individual sensor probes connect to a SensorGateway base unit using standard network cabling for data and power.
* The base unit is a standalone monitoring device with its own network address. No PC, cloud service or monitoring software is required for the sensors to operate.
* The base unit can monitor, log and generate alerts independently. Optional monitoring software can provide centralized dashboards, trending and reporting across multiple base units.
* Expansion hubs increase the number of conventional sensors connected to a base unit.
* Daisy-chainable sensors extend coverage using multiple sensing points on one sensor chain with reduced cabling and infrastructure.
* DAISY-THUM and DAISY-THUM-C provide distributed temperature and humidity monitoring for racks, hot aisles, cold aisles and data-center white space.
* One base unit can expose readings from multiple connected sensors through one IP address.

## Integration architecture

ServersCheck uses open industrial and IT protocols for integration with existing infrastructure-management systems.

Protocol taxonomy:

* BMS and automation - Modbus TCP, BACnet IP and, where supported, Modbus RTU over RS-485.
* NMS and DCIM - SNMP Gets and SNMP traps.
* Industrial IoT - MQTT.
* Native RS-485 versions are available for selected sensors where direct controller or gateway integration is required.

Protocol availability depends on the base-unit model, firmware and sensor configuration. Use the API & Protocols page and relevant product documentation for current support.

ServersCheck is designed for local, on-premises operation. Internet or cloud connectivity is not required unless a customer deliberately configures an Internet-dependent service.

## Important scope

* ServersCheck sensors are infrastructure monitoring devices for integration with NMS, DCIM, BMS, automation and alarm systems.
* ServersCheck sensors are not, unless explicitly stated for a specific product, life-safety, fire-detection or suppression-init
