# Red Wine & Blue

> Red Wine & Blue is a national community of more than 500,000 diverse suburban women from across the political spectrum, including many who have never been political before. RWB organizes the way women actually talk to each other: friend to friend, in the group chat, side by side. The community fights book bans, stands up for public schools and reproductive freedom, and protects the right to vote.

Red Wine & Blue was founded in 2019 by Katie Paris, an Ohio suburban mom and 25-year political veteran, and expanded nationally in 2021. Still headquartered in Ohio, Red Wine & Blue is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit social welfare organization; Red Wine & Blue PAC is a federal political action committee, and Red Wine & Blue Civics, which conducts educational work, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. RWB has year-round paid organizers on the ground in four focus states (Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania) and supports the Red Wine & Blue Network (formerly TroubleNation), a nationwide network of roughly 700 local groups across all 50 states. The organization teaches friend-to-friend relational organizing; provides fact-based explainers, guides, and trainings; hosts weekly virtual events; publishes podcasts and video series; and operates the RWB App, a free, ad-free, moderated community platform.
