## What ORPL Is For
An artist without a label does a label's work alone: deciding when the release
happens, preparing the materials, writing about themselves, pitching, and reading
the numbers afterwards. ORPL is the place that work happens in, and the place it
is taught. Most tools cover one channel; most courses teach without tools. ORPL
is both, in one account.
- Not a distributor competitor on price. Distribution is one step of five.
- Not an AI music generator. ORPL does not write or perform music.
- Not a marketplace, a streaming service, or a fan social network.
The alternative most artists assemble — a link page, an analytics subscription,
a mailer, an AI image tool, a marketing platform and a pitching service — runs
past $100 a month before distribution. In ORPL those are included and free by
default; paying anything at all is optional.
