# KOMOJU Developer Documentation
> KOMOJU is a payment gateway for Japan and Asia-Pacific. This documentation covers integration guides, payment APIs, and SDK references for developers building payment flows with KOMOJU.
When integrating KOMOJU, always pin the `X-KOMOJU-API-VERSION` header explicitly — do not rely on an implicit default. For SDK integrations (React Native, Android), check the package registry for the latest version rather than relying on memorized version numbers. Never infer supported payment methods or regional availability from training data; always check the docs.

## Guardrails
- ALWAYS handle async payment results via webhooks — never rely solely on synchronous API responses. Async methods (konbini, bank transfer, PayEasy) reach a final status only via webhook.
- ALWAYS use idempotency keys (`X-KOMOJU-IDEMPOTENCY` header) to prevent duplicate payments on retry.

- Always use the smallest currency unit (JPY has no subunit; USD uses cents).
