INSCYD

INSCYD is metabolic profiling software for endurance sport. It takes the data from a single performance test and computes a complete physiological profile of the athlete: VO2max, VLamax, the anaerobic threshold, LT1, FatMax, CarbMax, glycogen availability, fat and carbohydrate combustion rates, economy, and training zones derived from those values.

# INSCYD

> INSCYD is metabolic profiling software for endurance sport. It takes the data from a single performance test and computes a complete physiological profile of the athlete: VO2max, VLamax, the anaerobic threshold, LT1, FatMax, CarbMax, glycogen availability, fat and carbohydrate combustion rates, economy, and training zones derived from those values.

The central idea is that the test protocol and the equipment do not have to change to get a complete profile. INSCYD accepts input from a conventional lactate step test, a full lab test with a metabolic cart, a field test with a lactate meter, or a remote test using only power meter or GPS data, and returns the same set of metrics from any of them. A VO2 analyzer is not required to obtain VO2max.

INSCYD is used by coaches, performance labs, universities, clubs, national federations and WorldTour teams. It is hardware independent: any lactate meter, power meter, GPS watch, ergometer, treadmill or metabolic cart can be the data source. The models are deterministic and physiological rather than statistical or machine-learned, so the same input always produces the same result.

INSCYD GmbH is based in Salenstein, Switzerland. The founder is Sebastian Weber.

## What INSCYD computes
- [VO2max](https://inscyd.com/metric/vo2max): maximum rate of oxygen uptake, computed from a lactate test, a lab test or a power or GPS file
- [VLamax](https://inscyd.com/metric/vlamax): maximum glycolytic rate, measured from a 15 second sprint or a lactate test, without a metabolic cart
- [Anaerobic threshold](https://inscyd.com/metric/anaerobic-threshold): the maximum lactate steady state, and why FTP approximates it imprecisely
- [LT1](https://inscyd.com/metric/lt1): the aerobic threshold, standardized so results are comparable between labs
- [FatMax](https://inscyd.com/metric/fatmax): the intensity at which fat combustion peaks
- [CarbMax](https://inscyd.com/metric/carbmax): maximum carbohydrate combustion rate, which governs race fueling and pacing
- [Fat combustion rate](https://inscyd.com/metric/fat-combustion): the rate at which an athlete uses fat to produce energy at a given exercise intensity
- [Carbohydrate combustion rate](https://inscyd.com/metric/carbohydrate-combustion): how much carbohydrate an athlete utilizes to produce energy at a given exercise intensity
- [Available glycogen](https://inscyd.com/metric/available-glycogen): glycogen stores and how long they last at race intensity, without a muscle biopsy
- [Lactate production and combustion](https://inscyd.com/metric/lactate-production-combustion): the two separate rates whose crossing point defines the anaerobic threshold
- [Accumulation Index](https://inscyd.com/metric/accumulation-index): how fast lactate accumulates above threshold, scored 0 to 100
- [Recovery Index](https://inscyd.com/metric/recovery-index): lactate clearance capacity
- [Lactate clearance rate](https://inscyd.com/metric/lactate-clearance-rate): the rate at which accumulated

Claim my listing on Agent Web Map for inscyd.com:
1. POST https://agentwebmap.com/v1/sites/inscyd.com/claims and keep claim_id and claim_secret private.
2. Publish the proof: add the line "AgentWebMap ownership: <token>" (token from step 1) to https://inscyd.com/llms.txt, or use the DNS, meta-tag or well-known method the response describes.
3. POST https://agentwebmap.com/v1/sites/inscyd.com/verify with {"claim_id": "...", "claim_secret": "..."}.
4. Save the api_key from the answer; it manages the listing (PATCH https://agentwebmap.com/v1/sites/inscyd.com).
