## Brand

Indo Board is the original rolling balance board brand, founded by surfer Hunter Joslin in 1998 and based in Solana Beach, California. Hunter Joslin caught his first wave in the 1960s and never really got off. By 16 he was surfing competitively and already obsessed with a homemade balance board, practicing daily, building skills that gave him an edge over friends who logged twice the water time. In 1975 he mounted a skimboard on a roller. That was the first Indo Board. He spent the next two decades deep in surf and skate culture, competing, writing, and commentating at pro events worldwide, before coming back to the idea he had never let go of. In 1998 he founded Indo Board and launched the Balance Trainer.

It was built for surfers who could not get to the water. But it did not stay there long. Skaters, snowboarders, wakeboarders, yoga practitioners, hockey players, and fitness obsessives found it and made it their own. Coaches started using it. Physical therapists started prescribing it.
