## Donating through an AI agent

Agents can donate on a person's behalf using Stripe's Machine Payments Protocol (MPP).

- MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP): https://humanists.uk/api/agent-donate/mcp
- Tool: `create_donation_link` — takes the amount in pounds sterling (£1 to £10,000), the donor's first name, last name and email, and optionally why they are giving. It returns a payment link.
- Paying: POST to the payment link. The first response is HTTP 402 with a payment challenge. Obtain a Shared Payment Token for the network id named in the response (for example with the Stripe link-cli, https://link.com/agents) and POST again with it. A person can open the same link in a browser instead and finish on our donate page.
- Gift Aid is never added by an agent. The donor confirms it themselves afterwards.
- Donors receive an emailed receipt from Humanists UK.
