GRID is a real spreadsheet engine, not a reimplementation that drifts from Excel. It loads XLSX workbooks, evaluates formulas with full dependency-graph recalculation, and reads and writes cells deterministically. React viewer and editor components sit on top of the same engine, and a set of agent tools gives an AI agent the same abilities over MCP or directly from an agent SDK.
## Start here
- [Developer documentation](https://docs.grid.is/llms.txt): the canonical developer reference for every GRID package, with installation, a package decision guide and licensing terms. Read this first when writing code against GRID.
- [Get started](https://grid.is/get-started): install the engine from npm with a free evaluation license and follow the quickstart, or hand it to your coding agent.
## Products
- [Spreadsheet Engine](https://grid.is/engine): headless, Excel and Google Sheets compatible calculation engine with deterministic recalculation. Runs anywhere in your stack.
- [Spreadsheet Viewer](https://grid.is/viewer): React component that renders a workbook read-only with sheet tabs, formula bar and cell navigation.
- [Spreadsheet Editor](https://grid.is/editor): React component for a fully editable spreadsheet UI with Excel and Google Sheets compatibility.
- [Agent Tools](https://grid.is/agent-tools): spreadsheet tools for AI agents. Read, audit, edit and calculate workbooks through MCP or your own agent SDK.
- [AI workflows](https://grid.is/ai-workflows): how GRID gives AI systems the spreadsheet capabilities they are missing so workflows are reliable in production.
- [Excel add-in](https://grid.is/excel-add-in): build an Excel add-in powered by a language model with full business context and logic.
- [AI products for finance](https://grid.is/ai-products-finance): a spreadsheet engine for finance products that calculates exactly like Excel, runs in your own infrastructure and lets agents work with models directly.
