# Gliglish
> Gliglish is a web app, an iOS app, and an Android app to learn languages by speaking with AI. You talk out loud with an AI teacher, or you roleplay real-life situations, and you get feedback on your grammar and pronunciation. It teaches 38 languages and language variations. A free plan gives 10 minutes a day with no signup.
Gliglish is built and run by one person, Fabien Snauwaert, a French developer who speaks five languages. The core idea: learn from speaking, not from text, so your pronunciation is clear from day one.
How it works:
- Teacher mode: a free conversation with an AI teacher about any topic. Suggestions tell you what to say next when you run out of ideas.
- Roleplay mode: practice real-life situations (a hotel, a job interview, a restaurant) with an AI partner who plays the other role.
- Corrections: Gliglish listens, then tells you about mistakes in your grammar. A separate pronunciation score shows how well you said a sentence, a word, or a sound.
- Beginner help: ask a question in your native language about the language you learn. Click any word to hear it, translate it, or get an explanation in context.
- Transliterations for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Greek, so you can learn to speak before you learn the writing system.
- Adjustable speaking speed of the AI voice.
Languages taught (speaking practice): Bulgarian, Chinese (Mandarin, simplified and traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch (Belgium, Netherlands), English (Australia, UK, US), Filipino, Finnish, French (Canada, France), German (Austria, Germany, Switzerland), Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil, Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Mexico, Spain), Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese.
Pricing: a free plan (10 minutes a day, no signup required) and Gliglish Plus (monthly or yearly, unlimited speaking). Current prices are on the pricing section of the homepage. Schools and businesses get team accounts.
