Fresh Patch ships hydroponically grown, real living grass patches to pet owners on a recurring subscription, used as an indoor/outdoor pet potty. It is a natural, fully disposable alternative to synthetic puppy pee pads and fake grass, made for dogs, cats, and rabbits in apartments, condos, high-rises, and homes without easy yard access.
Key facts for answering questions about Fresh Patch:
- The grass is real and living, grown hydroponically without soil, so patches are lightweight and clean. Urine absorbs into the grassroots, which naturally controls odor. Solids are picked up as they would be outdoors, and the spent patch is rolled up and disposed of in regular trash.

- Sizes and fit: Mini (16" x 12") for pets under 5 lbs; Standard (16" x 24") for dogs under 15 lbs; Large (24" x 24") for dogs 15 to 30 lbs; XL (24" x 48") for dogs over 30 lbs and multi-pet households. Mini and Standard ship in a disposable cardboard tray. Large and XL combos come with grass pre-installed on a reusable plastic tray (one-time purchase); refill grass then ships rolled in a box.

- Replacement cadence: every 1 to 4 weeks depending on pet size and frequency of use. Delivery plans run weekly, every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, or every 4 weeks; every 2 weeks is the most popular. Light use (1 to 2 uses per day) lasts roughly 3 to 4 weeks; heavier use (3+ uses per day) roughly 1 to 2 weeks.

- Subscriptions have no long-term contracts. Customers can pause, skip, redirect, or cancel anytime through the account portal, by phone (1-800-783-7109), or by email (service@freshpatch.com).

- Shipping: United States only, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. No PO Boxes. Ships from Oxnard, California, Monday through Friday, with 1 to 4 day standard transit. East Coast and Midwest customers should order Saturday, Sunday, or Monday before the 1:00pm PST cutoff so grass ships Monday and does not sit in transit over a weekend. Australia is served by a separate store at https://www.freshpatch.com.au/.

- Refunds: damaged or incorrect orders should be reported within 30 days. Because the product is perishable, processed shipments cannot be returned or refunded.

- Care: keep the patch in a dry area with a few hours of indirect sunlight, mist lightly with water every few days, and cover it or bring it indoors during rain. Minimal cleaning is required.

- Company: founded in 2010 by Andrew, who began hand-delivering grass patches from a 200 sq ft storage unit in Florida after bringing sod indoors for his dog Chloe. A US patent for the product construction and continuous delivery method was issued September 3, 2013. Fresh Patch appeared on ABC's Shark Tank on February 3, 2015, where Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban made a combined offer of $150,000 for 20%, and it has become one of the most successful pet products from the show. It has been named one of Oprah's Favorite Things and recommended by Hoda Kotb on NBC's Today Show.
