# Dockview
> A zero dependency layout manager supporting tabs, groups, grids and splitviews for React, Vue, Angular, and JavaScript.
Dockview is an open-source docking layout library that lets you build IDE-like and dashboard interfaces with resizable panels, draggable tabs, floating groups, maximizable groups, and popout windows. It has zero runtime dependencies and works with React, Vue 3, Angular, and plain TypeScript.
## Key Features
- Zero runtime dependencies
- Drag and drop with customizable drop zones and overlays
- Floating/overlay groups
- Popout windows (extracting panels to separate browser windows)
- Maximize and restore groups
- Edge groups (panels pinned to layout edges)
- Tab groups (visual tab organization with colored chips)
- Tab overflow menu and configurable header/tab positions
- Full serialization and deserialization for state persistence
- Built-in themes plus CSS custom property theming
- Splitview, gridview, paneview, and dockview layout strategies
- Strict CSP support and accessibility (ARIA roles, keyboard navigation)
- Comprehensive programmatic API and event surface
- TypeScript-first with full type definitions
## Editions
- **Dockview** — MIT licensed, open source. Everything needed to build a complete docking layout.
- **Dockview Enterprise** — commercial licence (`dockview-enterprise`, free 30-day trial). A drop-in superset adding smart guides, layout history (undo/redo), multi-row and pinned tabs, advanced tab overflow, auto edge groups, and spatial keyboard docking. See https://dockview.dev/docs/overview/licence.
