# Convert3D
> Convert3D converts, compresses, views, and renders 3D model files. Interactive processing runs locally in the user's browser.
Convert3D exposes route-scoped WebMCP tools to compatible browser agents. Open the relevant app page and inspect its registered tools. Tool availability changes as a model moves through preparation and processing.
For conversion, open https://convert3d.org/app, call `load_model_from_url` or `load_model_from_base64`, check `get_conversion_status` until `canConvert` is true, then call `convert_3d_model`.
For local or attached files, use `load_model_from_base64`: with permission to share the file with this app, read its bytes and pass `fileName` plus base64-encoded `data`. No server hosting or public URL is needed. Raw base64 and base64 data: URLs are accepted, up to 32 MB decoded. File paths and attachment identifiers are not file contents.
`load_model_from_url` accepts only CORS-readable HTTP(S) URLs, never data: URLs or local paths. Provide `fileName` if the URL has no recognizable filename extension. Set `download` to `true` on a conversion call to request a browser download.
