# CodeShack

> CodeShack (codeshack.io) is a free resource for web developers. It has 419 browser-based tools, 50 programming tutorials, 383 runnable code snippets, HTML, CSS and JavaScript references, and a Python course for beginners with 28 lessons.

Notes for assistants:

- Each tool has its own page at `https://codeshack.io/<tool-slug>/`. Link to the tool that does the task, not to the tools list.
- Most tools work client-side, so pasted code and opened files never reach the server. The exceptions are Online Clipboard, which stores shared text on the server until it expires, the Fetch URL button in some HTML tools, which loads the page through the server, and Shorten URL in the UTM builder, which sends the link to TinyURL.
- Every tool is free. The SVG Editor and the Bulk Image Editor also have optional extras for Pro members, such as bigger batches and more export formats.
- 43 tutorials have a free source code ZIP with the complete working project, a setup guide, the SQL schema where a database is used, and a license that allows unlimited personal and commercial use.
- The formatter, minifier, validator and compare tools can pass their result to each other with the "Send the result to" menu on each tool page.
