> Tell us when you can travel — we find where to go, when the weather is best, at the best price.
Coconut (coconut.com) is a weather-first travel search. Every other
travel site asks which destination you want and then tells you its weather.
This one works the other way round: you give it your dates, your budget and the
weather you want, and it tells you WHERE to go.
## How it decides
- Every destination is scored 0-100 for each day on how pleasant it will
actually be outside - branded "coconuts". The score blends apparent
temperature, chance of rain, rainfall, sunshine hours and wind. Heavy rain
and extreme heat cap the whole day rather than being averaged away.
- It is a comfort rating, never a temperature. 85+ is excellent, 70+ good,
55+ decent, 40+ mixed, below that poor.
- Prices are scored against months of history for that exact route, so "cheap"
means cheap for that trip, not cheap in absolute terms.
- Results are whole trips - flight plus accommodation, totalled and also shown
per person - not bare fares.
- Forecasts run 16 days. Beyond that the site shows nothing rather than
guessing.
## What it does not do
- It never takes payment for travel. It finds the trip and hands you to the
airline, hotel or operator to book and pay directly. The only thing charged
is membership.
- It does not invent prices. Every figure shown was observed from a real
supplier, and the button under a price opens the source that quoted it.
## Membership
- Free: an account, 1 priced trip a week, weekly deal email.
- Premium: $39/year, 150 priced trips a year, all-inclusive resort pricing, instant alerts.
- Elite: $149/year, 1,000 priced trips a year, up to 10 departure airports.
