# Canon Sociaal Werk
> Het digitale platform Canon Sociaal Werk (canonsociaalwerk.eu) biedt een overzicht van de geschiedenis van het sociaal werk en aanverwante werkterreinen in Nederland en Vlaanderen. De site is een initiatief van de Vereniging Canon sociaal werk en maakt onderdeel uit van het Historisch Centrum Sociaal Werk (HCSW). Doel is dat professionals, studenten, onderzoekers en geïnteresseerden inzicht krijgen in het verleden van hun werkveld, vanuit de overtuiging dat historisch besef bijdraagt aan zelfbewustere professionaliteit.
De inhoud is opgebouwd uit *canons*: thematische overzichten per werksoort. Elke canon bestaat uit *vensters* — chronologisch geordende, op een jaartal verbonden korte verhalen over een gebeurtenis, persoon of ontwikkeling. De site bevat daarnaast biografieën, podcasts, essays, lesmateriaal en historische publicaties. Alle inhoud is in het Nederlands; een deel is ook in het Engels beschikbaar via History of Social Work (historyofsocialwork.org).
