# Bob Belderbos: Process Automation Consulting and Developer Coaching
> I help companies turn manual business processes into software that runs: a fixed-price audit, then build, ship and support the smallest reliable system that fixes it. Workflow first, AI second. I also coach developers in Python, Rust, and AI.
Bob Belderbos is a software engineer, consultant, and coach based in Spain, working in English and Spanish. He started on the business side (BBA, financial analyst at CHEP in Madrid, automating reporting in VBA), then spent 13 years in production software at Sun Microsystems and Oracle, around eight of them focused on support automation. One team initiative automated the resolution of around 40% of incoming x86 support calls, significantly reducing resolution times, improving customer satisfaction, and delivering substantial cost savings. Co-founded Pybites in 2016 and has run its platforms in production since. 20 years building production software; more than 150 developers coached 1:1 since 2020.
## Consulting
- [Process automation consulting](https://belderbos.dev/consulting/): Turn one painful business process into software that runs. Audit, build, ship; each step has a fixed scope and fixed price, and you can stop after any of them.
- [Scope First Audit](https://belderbos.dev/consulting/#audit): EUR 1,500 fixed, one process, one week. Maps the process step by step, decides per step whether it needs plain code, an AI model, or a human, designs the smallest system that fixes it, and ends in a fixed-price build proposal with an estimate, based on stated assumptions, of what the process costs today, what can realistically be recovered, and the cost of waiting. The client keeps the report whether they hire Bob or not.
- [Build](https://belderbos.dev/consulting/#build): Three paths, each quoted at a fixed price: the client's team builds from the plan, Bob builds it with them (architecture, pairing, review of every pull request), or Bob builds it.
- [Ship and run](https://belderbos.dev/consulting/#ship): Deployed on the client's infrastructure with CI, tests, logging and monitoring sized to the system, docs and a handoff. Optional retainer for fixes and the next process.
- [Book a 20-minute fit call](https://calendar.app.google/fbcfDTK3EXY62JgQ9): Bring the process, not a spec.
Good fit: growing companies with a small tech team, or none, where work moves by hand between inboxes, spreadsheets and internal tools, and something changed that makes it urgent: volume outgrowing the team, a new rule that requires traceability, the one person who knows the spreadsheet leaving, or a mandate to "add AI" with no definition. Typically a process that runs weekly, takes 10+ hours of someone's time, and follows rules people could write down. Not a fit: teams that already have a spec and only need implementation (a development agency is better for that). The client owns all code and infrastructure. AI is used only where the input is genuinely fuzzy, b
