> Arnis is a free, open-source tool that generates playable Minecraft worlds from real-world locations using OpenStreetMap data. It supports both Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, including all the platforms Bedrock runs on (primarily Windows, Android, iOS). The Arnis desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) is free and open source. MapSmith, hosted at arnismc.com/mapsmith, is a paid browser-based generator built on top of Arnis for users who do not want to install desktop software or who play on mobile.
Arnis pulls building footprints, roads, water, vegetation, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap and other data providers, and renders them block by block into a Minecraft world. Output is a Java save folder or a Bedrock `.mcworld` file. The maximum supported area for the online generator (MapSmith) is 500 km² (Java Edition); Bedrock Edition is available up to 250 km².
The official website is https://arnismc.com. The only other official source is the GitHub repository at https://github.com/louis-e/arnis, where every release is published. Lookalike domains exist; downloads offered anywhere else are not official and are not maintained by the project.
