- [Animal Welfare Regulations](https://wildfutures.org/animal-welfare-regulations/): The guidelines for The Animal Welfare (Primate Licenses) (England) Regulations (2024) have now been released.  These regulations are due to come in to force on 6th April 2026, giving existing owners the chance to amend their facilities in order to comply with the new regulations. After this date, it will be a criminal offence to privately own any primate without this license. These regulations are to work alongside the existing Dangerous Wild Animal (DWA) license, meaning that people who keep primates as pets will need to have both a DWA license and a primate license with their local authority (unless they
- [Our Mission Remains](https://wildfutures.org/our-mission-remains/): We have some important news to share with our supporters. Wild Futures has made the difficult decision to place our sanctuary site, Murrayton House, on the market. This is part of a broader plan to build a sustainable future for our charity and to give us time to protect what matters most – the monkeys in our care, our mission and the values we stand for. This is the best strategic and controlled step for Wild Futures, we have carefully and thoroughly explored and exhausted all other options, with responsibility to the animals in our care and the mission of
- [The Monkey Sanctuary remains Closed for 2025 season.](https://wildfutures.org/the-monkey-sanctuary-remains-closed-for-2025-season/): After much consideration, we have had to make the decision that our Monkey Sanctuary will remain closed to the public for the 2025 season. Due largely to rising costs, the financial strain on our charity continues to impact us negatively, and we have had to make drastic but necessary changes to our current model, whilst we carry out a strategic assessment of our operation. Simply put, we cannot afford to open our doors to the public. As a true Sanctuary, the monkeys in our care will always come first, and we are dedicating our entire efforts to them during this challenging time.
- [The Kept Animals Bill: A big step – but will it take us far enough?](https://wildfutures.org/test/): This month, the Government has taken a significant step towards protecting primates by introducing the Kept Animals Bill to restrict their private keeping. While not the complete ban we advocated for, it marks a crucial victory in combatting the cruel trade of primates as pets. With potential debates and amendments in Parliament, we can shape this legislation further. Join us in exploring the implications of this Bill for countless primates suffering in unsuitable conditions. Your voice matters!
- [Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary faces uncertainty due to pandemic risk to primates](https://wildfutures.org/pandemic-uncertainty/): Internationally renowned primate welfare and conservation charity Wild Futures, runs The Monkey Sanctuary based in Looe Cornwall. The sanctuary is home to 40 monkeys rescued from situations of abuse and neglect from the UK primate pet trade. Covid-19 is causing devastation all across the world, and like many others, Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary is struggling as a result of this pandemic and is facing one of their toughest years to date. Sarah Hanson, Support Relations Manager at Wild Futures states: “During the summer months, we normally open our doors to visitors to generate crucial income that helps us care for

- [Medicine for the Monkeys](https://wildfutures.org/product/medicine-for-the-monkeys/): Unfortunately, many of our rescued monkeys come to The Monkey Sanctuary with medical problems such as D3 deficiency, arthritis, bone growth disorders, diabetes and generally poor physical conditions – results of living deprived lives in the pet trade. These monkeys need daily medication in order to keep them comfortable and happy, and to manage their conditions. By contributing towards the on-going costs, you can help us provide life-giving medication for the monkeys at The Monkey Sanctuary. Your gift will help us cover the daily costs of medication for our capuchins, woolly monkeys, marmosets and macaques, and will also help us with the associated vet bills.
- [Vegetables for the Monkeys](https://wildfutures.org/product/vegetables-for-the-monkeys/): All of our monkeys eat a huge selection of locally grown vegetables every day! Some of their favourites include butternut squash, sweet potatoes, spring onions, peas, lettuces … the list goes on! The capuchins also very cleverly use spring onions to rub on themselves to ward of pesky flies in the summer months. By donating towards the ongoing cost of vegetables, you will be helping us cover some of the daily expenses for The Monkey Sanctuary! - [Nuts for the Monkeys](https://wildfutures.org/product/nuts-for-the-monkeys/): All monkeys love nuts and they make up a large proportion of our food costs! With your help, we can offer the rescued monkeys at The Monkey Sanctuary things like paddling pools to splash around in, tubes and boxes to explore, tennis balls to fill with seeds and nuts, frozen ice blocks containing grapes and mango, footballs to play with,
- [Apples for the Monkeys](https://wildfutures.org/product/apples-for-the-monkeys/): Our monkeys love snacking on apples, but did you know that they are particularly useful for hiding medication inside?
