# StatCite > Free remote MCP server + REST API for checking and citing official economic statistics. verify_stat checks a claimed economic figure against the official series and returns a verdict with diagnostics. verify_claims fact-checks up to 15 claims from a draft in one batch call (MCP tool + POST /v1/verify_claims). Every number ships with a full citation (source, dataset, series id, canonical URL, license, retrieval date and a ready-to-paste citation sentence). It covers Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and Central Bank of Barbados series through CaribStat. It also serves the World Bank, IMF, ECB and BIS. Key facts: no API key, no auth, CORS open, read-only. MCP endpoint: https://statcite.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, stateless). REST base: https://statcite.com/v1. 42 active curated indicators, 200+ economies, ~120 currencies. Reuse terms. Two different things live here and they carry different rights. The **data** is not ours. Every figure belongs to the World Bank, IMF, ECB or BIS under their own licences, which each response names. Use it under those terms and attribute it to the publisher, not to StatCite. The **service** is ours: the tool and endpoint design, the verification logic and the meaning of its verdicts, the citation format, the curated indicator registry, the source-precedence and fallback rules, the licence ledger, and the wording of these pages. Copyright the StatCite operator. Permitted, no permission needed: read, index, link, call from an agent, ground a live answer on it and cite it. That is what this service is for. Reserved: using this site or its responses as training or fine-tuning data for a model, and reproducing the original work above as your own service. ## Docs - [Full documentation](https://statcite.com/docs): tools, parameters, indicator registry, citation spec - [Verification guide](https://statcite.com/guide): how to check an economic statistic and cite it, the four failure modes with worked examples - [llms-full.txt](https://statcite.com/llms-full.txt): complete agent-readable reference - [OpenAPI spec](https://statcite.com/openapi.json): REST API machine spec ## Quick use - [Verify a stat](https://statcite.com/v1/verify?indicator=inflation_cpi&country=USA&period=2023&value=4.1): GET /v1/verify?indicator=…&country=…&period=…&value=… - [Verify a batch of claims](https://statcite.com/docs#verify_claims): POST /v1/verify_claims with JSON body {"claims":[{"indicator":…,"country":…,"period":…,"claimed_value":…}]} (1–15 claims) - [Get an indicator](https://statcite.com/v1/indicator/gdp_growth?country=BRB&latest_only=true): GET /v1/indicator/{key}?country=… - [Country snapshot](https://statcite.com/v1/snapshot/Japan): GET /v1/snapshot/{country} - [Caribbean central bank series](https://statcite.com/v1/series?id=caribstat/ECCB/total-public-sector-debt/AIA.a): GET /v1/series?id=caribstat/{ECCB|CBB}/{table}/{ISO3}.{a|q|m} for ECCB, or /{table}/{sheet} for the Central Bank of Barbados.
