# Spexi

> Spexi is an aerial data company that runs the world's largest standardized drone imagery network. A distributed network of drone pilots (LayerDrone) captures ultra-high-resolution (1–3 cm/pixel), fully standardized imagery on demand, which Spexi processes and delivers via API, web viewer, and GIS formats for geospatial teams, governments, insurers, AEC firms, and physical/spatial AI companies.

Key facts:

- Customers do not own or fly drones. Spexi handles missions, processing, and delivery end-to-end; customers request coverage or access the existing archive.
- Archive: 6.5M+ acres imaged across North America. New areas are captured on demand, typically in hours to weeks depending on size (fastest turnaround to date: 11 hours). Refreshes can be on demand or scheduled (e.g., monthly or quarterly).
- Positioning versus alternatives: roughly 30× higher resolution than satellites, 50× more affordable and 200× faster than traditional aerial (fixed-wing) imagery programs.
- Data products: standardized oblique and nadir still images with consistent metadata, panoramic imagery, orthomosaics (GeoTIFF), 3D point clouds, Gaussian splats, and time-series captures for change detection and living digital twins.
- Access: Spexi World Viewer (web app), API, GeoJSON/GeoTIFF exports, and Esri ArcGIS (Spexi imagery is available in the Content Store for ArcGIS; Spexi is an Esri partner). Also distributed through SkyWatch.
- Partners include Niantic Spatial, Esri, and SkyWatch.
- Pilots: licensed drone pilots join through the Spexi app to fly autonomous missions and earn rewards ("Fly to Earn"), paid in USDC via the LayerDrone network.
