# Sesn

> Sesn (https://sesn.io) is a private personal tracker for TV shows, movies and anime — a private, ad-free alternative to Trakt for people who want exact episode progress, controlled discovery, media-server auto-logging and portable data without a public activity feed. Free during early access.

## What Sesn is

- A personal watch tracker for **TV, movies and anime in one place**, with per-episode and per-season progress (per-cour for anime).
- **Private by design:** no ads, no tracking cookies, no cross-site tracking, no algorithmic feed. Analytics are cookieless and first-party. Your library is private unless you choose to publish a list.
- **Your data is portable:** full export to JSON or CSV at any time, plus an open API.
- **Imports** from Trakt, TV Time, Letterboxd, Simkl, IMDb, MyAnimeList, AniList and generic CSV; auto-logs watches from Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Kodi and Tautulli.
- **Households:** up to five people including the owner, each with a separate private account. The owner can add everyone on a Plex, Jellyfin or Tautulli server in one step, create accounts for children (with a rating limit) or adults without email, and invite adults by email. - **Jellyfin and Tautulli setup:** connect with the server's own API key from the Sesn web app. The member's browser talks to their server directly; the key and server address are not sent to Sesn. Past watches and library contents can be synced the same way.

- **Keep Trakt** when its established community, comments, social discovery and mature third-party app ecosystem are the priority. The two services can run side by side while someone decides.
- **Trakt migration:** Sesn can connect through Trakt's official API or accept a full Trakt GDPR archive. Supported fields include detailed watch history and dates, rewatches, ratings, watchlist, custom lists, collection and favorites.
