# Seaguar

> Seaguar invented fluorocarbon fishing line in 1971 and is the only manufacturer that produces its own fluorocarbon resin from raw material to finished line. It makes fluorocarbon and braided fishing line and leader for freshwater and saltwater anglers of every skill level, from casual to tournament pro.

Founded in 1971 by Kureha Company (Tokyo, Japan), the original inventor of fluorocarbon fishing line and leader. Seaguar is the only fluorocarbon brand that manufactures its own resin end-to-end; most competitors buy resin from third parties. Its Double Structure Technology is a Seaguar-exclusive extrusion process that combines two resins in one line for higher tensile strength and knot strength, used in lines like TATSU, Gold Label, Blue Label (FC), and Fluoro Premier. Product range includes 100% fluorocarbon mainline and leader, braid, species-specific lines, apparel, and the Seaguar JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) collection of specialty lines imported directly from Japan.
