# REMI — Regional Economic Models, Inc. > Founded 1980. REMI builds dynamic economic and demographic modeling software used by federal, state, and regional decision-makers to test the economic effects of policies before they are implemented. ## About REMI REMI was founded in 1980 on the transformative idea that government decision-makers should test the economic effects of their policies before they are implemented. The REMI model integrates econometric, input-output, computable general equilibrium, and New Economic Geography approaches into a single dynamic forecasting and policy-analysis tool that answers "what if...?" questions about a regional economy. REMI's models are used by federal and state agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, universities, consulting firms, and public utilities. Research findings have been published in the *American Economic Review*, the *Review of Economics and Statistics*, the *Journal of Regional Science*, and the *International Regional Science Review*. ## Products - [PI+](https://www.remi.com/products/pi/) — Flagship dynamic macroeconomic impact analysis model.
