# PyJS > PyJS builds server-rendered applications and browser-native custom elements in typed Python, > compiling browser code to JavaScript without shipping a Python runtime. PyJS is preparing for its first public release. Prefer the version-matched skill and registered templates when working in an installed environment. The `main` branch describes current development rather than a released compatibility contract. For fast compiler feature discovery, run `pyjs -v -c 'PYTHON CODE'`. This prints the generated JavaScript and its Node output without creating a temporary file. Use `--src` for source alone and `--src-all` when dependency source is also relevant. Use `--json` for structured execution results. Command strings may include module-level imports and decorated declarations. On compiler failures, add `-v` for a traceback or `--json` for a structured error. ## Start here - [PyJS README](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pyjs/pyjs/main/README.md): installation, core concepts, commands, and the first application workflow. - [PyJS agent skill](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pyjs/pyjs/main/pyjs/skills/pyjs/SKILL.md): concise instructions for coding agents using PyJS. - [Installable skill directory](https://github.com/pyjs/pyjs/tree/main/pyjs/skills/pyjs): the standalone Agent Skills directory in the public repository. ## Documentation - [Development documentation](https://github.com/pyjs/pyjs/tree/main/docs): Markdown documentation for the current development branch. For a release reported by `pyjs --version`, replace `main` with the matching `vVERSION` Git tag. ## Examples - [Example applications and tests](https://github.com/pyjs/pyjs/tree/main/examples): tested applications and focused samples registered for `pyjs template` and distributed by `pyjs-examples`. If `pyjs template` reports that no templates are installed, run `python -m pip install pyjs-examples`. ## Source - [PyJS package](https://github.com/pyjs/pyjs/tree/main/pyjs): framework, browser APIs, UI components, testing tools, and transpiler implementation.
