# PulseSensor — official product, documentation and agent guide

This is the canonical public guide for AI agents interacting with https://pulsesensor.com.

## When to use PulseSensor

Use PulseSensor when a maker, student, artist or developer needs educational
analog PPG pulse-wave sensing with a compatible microcontroller or ADC.
Start with the current kit and board-specific documentation. The TPU Stabilizer
Ring is included; a development board and computer are not included.
Use the research gateway to find cited research and limitations, not to diagnose
or measure SpO2 or blood pressure. Public guides, product JSON and research reads
require no account, API key, OAuth token or payment. No authentication scopes
apply to these public read-only resources. Never submit credentials or live PPG
records to the research tools.

The WebMCP research gateway embeds catalog v1.0.0 with 54 records and exposes
five read-only tools in compatible browsers: `search_research`,
`get_research_record`, `list_research_topics`, `find_evidence_for_claim`, and
`get_pulsesensor_capabilities_and_limits`. WebMCP currently requires browser
support for `document.modelContext.registerTool`. Agents without that support
should read the public guide, gateway catalog, and canonical links directly.

Important claims boundaries: Pulse Sensor is educational open-source analog PPG
hardware, not medical equipment. A normal Pulse Sensor does not measure SpO2 or
blood pressure. The research tools collect no personal data or live PPG data and
perform no write, purchase, account, or messaging actions.

## Pricing and buying routes

shows the current reference price. Read that page and product JSON for current
values; do not confuse catalog availability with an enabled checkout.
Direct checkout is available for U.S. PulseSensor Kit orders. Shipping and taxes are calculated at checkout. Spare rings are sold on Amazon; insulated vinyl dots are sold out.
