# Prowl — real-world market data for your agents > https://prowl.chat ## Overview Prowl gives AI agents **real-world market data**. A model knows what the web said when it was trained; Prowl tells it what the market says today. Agents connect via **Model Context Protocol (MCP)** at `https://prowl.chat/mcp` and gain **444 market data tools** across 17 providers — search, ads, SEO, app stores, reviews, social, trends and finance — so they answer from **measured data, not guesses**, on **pay-as-you-go USD wallet billing**. One call answers one number; when one call is not enough, `prowl_analyze` writes a report whose deep and max runs cross-check claims against independent tools and disclose the ones they could not confirm. People can skip the setup and ask **Prowl Agent**, the built-in agent at https://prowl.chat — it runs on the same tools and bills the same wallet. The web UI also holds the wallet, API keys and top-ups. ## MCP Quick Start 1. Sign up at https://prowl.chat/signup/ (log in: https://prowl.chat/login/) 2. Open **MCP Home** (https://prowl.chat/mcp-home) → generate an API key (`prowl_…`) 3. Configure your MCP client: ```json { "mcpServers": { "prowl": { "url": "https://prowl.chat/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer prowl_YOUR_KEY" } } } } ``` 4. Call `prowl_list_tools` → `prowl_tool_info` → `prowl_call_tool` for direct tool access, or `prowl_analyze` for a checked report when one call is not enough. **Fast path:** hand a coding agent the install skill and it wires up the client config + token file itself. Paste: *"Set up the Prowl MCP using the install skill at https://prowl.chat/mcp/install.md — my token is prowl_YOUR_KEY."* The landing page and MCP Home both have a "Copy agent install prompt" button. Installable plugin: https://github.com/PROWL-AI/prowl-skill Full agent documentation: https://prowl.chat/mcp/skill.md Agent install skill: https://prowl.chat/mcp/install.md **OAuth instead of a key:** when a person is present to approve consent, the endpoint speaks OAuth 2.1 — dynamic client registration (RFC 7591), PKCE S256, or a client-ID metadata document instead of registering at all. Which credential applies to you, and every endpoint either one needs: https://prowl.chat/auth.md ## Billing Model (USD wallet) Two balance pools per account: | Pool | Source | Expiry | Charged | |------|--------|--------|---------| | **Subscription** | Stripe plan (Exploit / Blackops / Syndicate) | Burns at period end | 1st | | **Extra** | One-time top-up packs ($10 / $50 / $200) | Never expires | 2nd | Every `prowl_call_tool` invocation debits wallet balance: **provider cost × a uniform markup**; a single call typically costs cents. Response JSON includes a `billing` object (`estimated_cost_usd`, `actual_cost_usd`, `debited`). Check balance via `GET /api/v1/wallet` (JWT) or MCP Home. Public price catalog: `GET /api/v1/tools/pricing` (includes `estimated_billed_usd`) Agent REST v1: `GET /api/v1/wallet`, `/api/v1/wallet/invocations`, `/api/v1/usage/tools`, `/api/v1/usage/summary`, `/api/v1/tools/pricing`, `GET/POST/DELETE /api/v1/keys` ## Subscription Tiers (monthly credit bundles) | Tier | Price | Credit / period | Best for | |------|-------|-----------------|----------| | Recon | Free | $15 starter credit (extra pool) | Try MCP and Prowl Agent | | Exploit | $60/mo | $60 USD credits | Founders | | Blackops | $120/mo | $120 USD credits | Marketers / operators | | Syndicate | $240/mo | $240 USD credits | Agencies / teams | Yearly plans available (≈10× monthly credit bundle). Top-up anytime via Stripe credit packs. Core tools shown — the full list of all 23 registered tools (sessions, schedules, playbooks, error feed) lives at https://prowl.chat/mcp/skill.md. ## Scoped API Keys Keys support optional restrictions: allowed/denied tool categories, daily/total spend caps, IP allowlist. Create via `POST /api/mcp/keys` or MCP Home. ## Reports (prowl_analyze output) Intelligence modules composed per question — market topology, positioning matrix, revenue mechanics, funnel intelligence, creative signals, market pulse, voice & vulnerability, SEO and AI-retrieval audit, market sizing, channel economics, growth signals, idea verdict — delivered as one checked report. ## Use cases Each page names the tools a use case calls and what they do not cover. - [Market research](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/market-research-data/): Competitors, demand and market size from SERPs, trends, reviews and ads. - [SEO & AI search](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/seo-data-mcp/): Rankings, keywords, backlinks from four indexes, and mentions inside AI answers. - [Marketing & ads](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/ad-library-mcp/): Live ads from the Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Google ad libraries, plus keyword CPCs. - [Social media](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/social-media-data-mcp/): YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit and Pinterest profiles, posts and engagement. - [Creative](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/ad-creative-research/): Long-running ads, hooks and formats that already work, across platforms. - [Trends](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/google-trends-mcp/): Google Trends, clickstream trends, news and regional interest over time. - [Investing & trading](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/stock-market-data-mcp/): Google Finance quotes, market movers and tickers, with the news and search interest around them. - [Product development](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/app-store-data-mcp/): App Store and Google Play rankings and reviews, feature complaints, patents and papers. - [E-commerce](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/amazon-product-data-mcp/): Amazon, Walmart and Google Shopping products, prices, sellers and reviews. - [Local & promotion](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/google-maps-data-mcp/): Google Maps and business profiles, local rankings, listings and reviews. - [Analytics](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/traffic-analytics-mcp/): Traffic estimates, keyword volume and clickstream for any domain. ## Docs - [Getting started](https://prowl.chat/getting-started/): connect any MCP client in five steps — sign up, generate a key, wire the client, verify, run the first report. - [Running your first report](https://prowl.chat/docs/running-your-first-report/): per-tier duration and cost caps, the async poll pattern, the 30-minute timeout with resume, cancel semantics. - [Billing and top-ups](https://prowl.chat/docs/billing-and-top-ups/): the prepaid wallet, $10/$50/$200 credit packs via Stripe, declined cards, receipts, refund policy. - [Rate limits and errors](https://prowl.chat/docs/rate-limits-and-errors/): 300/min per IP, 120/min per key, JSON-RPC error codes -32001/-32002/-32003, 429 backoff. - [Scheduling and webhooks](https://prowl.chat/docs/scheduling-and-webhooks/): daily/weekly/monthly cadence, private webhook triggers, retries, limits, the test path. - [Cancellation and account deletion](https://prowl.chat/docs/cancellation-and-account-deletion/): how cancelling works at period end, and what happens to credit and data on deletion. - [Docs index](https://prowl.chat/docs/): all reference guides in one place. - [Docs section manifest](https://prowl.chat/docs/llms.txt): the same guides as a narrow `llms.txt` — read this instead of the whole file when you only want the reference docs. - [Pricing](https://prowl.chat/pricing/): the free tier, the monthly credit bundles and the one-time top-up packs, with what a call costs. - [Sign up](https://prowl.chat/signup/): create an account and claim the starter credit. - [Log in](https://prowl.chat/login/): reach MCP Home — the API key, the wallet, the per-call record. - [About Prowl](https://prowl.chat/about/): what the product is — real-world market data for agents — and what it reports it could not confirm. - [Tool catalog](https://github.com/PROWL-AI/prowl-docs/blob/main/docs/tools/README.md): one page per tool, all 444 — input schema, example request, response shape, error table, the tools it chains with. ## Agent references - [Documentation repository](https://github.com/PROWL-AI/prowl-docs): the whole manual plus a page per tool, as plain markdown. Generated from the code on every release and carrying a `context7.json`, so an agent can read it directly rather than scraping this site. - [MCP skill doc](https://prowl.chat/mcp/skill.md): the full agent-facing tool reference — every tool, argument and response shape. - [Agent install skill](https://prowl.chat/mcp/install.md): hand this to a coding agent and it wires up the client config and token file itself. - [Agent skill manifest](https://prowl.chat/.well-known/agent-skills/prowl/SKILL.md): the well-known skill descriptor for agent runtimes. - [MCP health](https://prowl.chat/mcp/health): liveness of the MCP endpoint. - [Command-line client](https://github.com/PROWL-AI/prowl-cli): `@prowl-ai/cli` on npm — `npx @prowl-ai/cli analyze example.com` runs the same tools and the same wallet from a shell or a CI job, for anything that is not an MCP client. Its version is whatever npm serves; this page deliberately does not restate it. ## Clients - [Use cases index](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/): every use case and client page in one place. - [Claude MCP server](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/claude-mcp-server/): add Prowl in Claude Code or Claude Desktop and Claude gains 444 live market-data tools. - [Cursor MCP server](https://prowl.chat/use-cases/cursor-mcp-server/): one block in .cursor/mcp.json gives Cursor's agent the same 444 tools inside the editor. ## Blog - [Blog index](https://prowl.chat/blog/): field notes on market data for AI agents — what the data shows, how it is gathered, and where it stops being reliable. Paginated, newest first. - [Blog RSS feed](https://prowl.chat/blog/feed.xml): the newest articles as RSS 2.0, with titles, links, dates and summaries. Use this instead of crawling the index. - Individual articles live at `https://prowl.chat/blog//` and topic pages at `https://prowl.chat/blog/tag//`. The set changes, so read it from the feed or from [the sitemap](https://prowl.chat/sitemap.xml) rather than from a list pinned here. ## Optional - [Homepage](https://prowl.chat/): product overview, pricing tiers, and the MCP quick start. - [Contact](https://prowl.chat/contact/): reach the Prowl team. - [Privacy policy](https://prowl.chat/privacy/): what data is collected and how it is handled. - [Terms of service](https://prowl.chat/terms/): terms governing use of the platform.
