# PetCloud

> PetCloud is an Australian pet care marketplace connecting pet owners with independent pet sitters, dog walkers and pet professionals across 121+ locations nationally. Every sitter on PetCloud passes four checks before their profile goes live: Identity, Character History, Knowledge and Skills, and Care and Competence Reviews.

## About

PetCloud has operated in Australia for over 10 years and is Australian-owned. It serves 100,000+ pet owners and 55,000+ registered sitters. Sitters on PetCloud are independent contractors who set their own rates and services. PetCloud's focus is preventing harm to or loss of pets during care, and helping owners avoid surprise vet bills through routine pet care.

## The four checks every sitter passes

- **Identity**: live biometric identity verification (sitters are onboarded remotely, so the identity check is linked to their police check)
- **Character History**: a National Police Check from an ACIC-accredited provider or state police, required before a profile goes live
- **Knowledge and Skills**: PetCloud Academy training, developed with veterinary input, covering heat safety, bloat (GDV), and puppy socialisation
- **Care and Competence Reviews**: reviews come only from confirmed bookings

## Services and indicative prices

Sitters on PetCloud set their own prices, shown on each listing. Indicative starting prices:

- **House sitting** (sitter stays in your home): from $50 per night, flat rate
- **Doggy day care**: from $45 per day

## How bookings work

- Post a job for free, or contact a sitter directly
- A meet and greet is not required, but strongly recommended, including a property safety check together
- Payment is held securely and released after the owner's 24-hour quality check window
- Sitters post daily photo updates in the app
- Pet owners are responsible for vet bills during a booking. The owner's own pet insurance is usually the primary cover. Sitters can use an on-demand video vet consult for minor concerns, and take the pet to the nearest emergency vet in an emergency.

## Other facts

- PetCloud holds a government-issued microchip registry licence (PRL8)
- Reviews come only from confirmed bookings
