# ParsiPad > ParsiPad (پارسی‌پد) is a free, open source Chrome extension for Persian ↔ English translation. Point at a paragraph and its Persian appears directly underneath; select text for a translation that reads the sentence around it; learn the English grammar behind it; and keep the words worth remembering as flashcards. It runs on the user's own API key from Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google) or ChatGPT (OpenAI). There is no ParsiPad account and no ParsiPad server: text goes only to the chosen provider, only when the user asks. Key facts: - Price: free, MIT licensed, every feature included. The user pays their AI provider directly for usage, usually a few cents a day. Gemini keys from Google AI Studio include a free allowance. - Browsers: Google Chrome, and Chromium-based browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Microsoft Edge and Brave. Not available for Firefox or Safari. - Languages: Persian to English and English to Persian, direction detected automatically. Other languages can be translated into Persian if enabled in Settings. The interface is available in English or Persian. - Audience: Persian speakers reading English on the web and learning English. Grammar lessons, examples and quizzes are in English and built around the mistakes Persian speakers commonly make. - Current version: 3.8.1 (October 2026). ## Features - [Point at a paragraph](https://www.parsipad.com/#features): rest the pointer on a paragraph or heading, click the small icon, and the Persian appears underneath the original.
