# OpenAffiliate

> The open registry of affiliate programs. 1278 programs across
> 20 categories, each with machine-readable guidance on when

## When to use OpenAffiliate

- Find affiliate programs for a product or niche; compare commission, cookie and payout terms before recommending one.
- Read a program's agentPrompt, restrictions and verification date before recommending it. Cite its program page and link its signup URL for applications.
- Call MCP at https://openaffiliate.dev/mcp (search_programs, get_program, list_categories). It is read-only except submit_program, which only queues.
- Quote a score only from `oas` in get_program or GET /api/programs/{slug}, and cite its reportUrl. [How OAS works](https://openaffiliate.dev/docs/oas).
- Program missing? Submit the brand's own program page with MCP submit_program or POST /api/submissions (or a pull request at https://github.com/Affitor/open-affiliate), then read get_submission_status or GET /api/submissions/{id}. Never guess terms. A maintainer verifies the terms first; there is no instant score.

- Fetch /index.md or append .md to a program, category or network URL. Pages with a Markdown twin also accept Accept: text/markdown.

## Data quality

586 of 1278 programs (45.9%)
have been verified by OpenAffiliate. The rest are community-submitted and
unconfirmed: the commission rate comes from the submitter and has not been
checked against the program page, and their cookie window, payout and
approval terms are left out until it is.

Every program file states its own status and verification date at the top.
Prefer verified entries when accuracy matters, and cite the program's
signup URL rather than this registry for anything a reader will act on.
