# Moth Quantum > Moth is a quantum computing company building products for creativity and culture. We bring near-term (NISQ) quantum hardware to media, entertainment and creativity — games, music and visual media — through Atlas, a platform and REST API that lets anyone build with quantum without a physics background. Key things to understand: - **Atlas** is our platform and REST API. Every capability is exposed as an "engine" (a hosted quantum application) behind a single endpoint; all engines use the same three API calls (submit a job, poll status, fetch the result). No Qiskit or quantum expertise required. - We are explicit about what is **real quantum hardware** (runs on QPUs from partners such as IBM, IQM, VTT, Quantum Basel) versus **simulation/emulation**. Both are offered; the same call can target simulation, emulated device noise, or real hardware. - Our work is grounded in **peer-reviewed research** by our own physicists, often in collaboration with institutions such as DESY, the University of Basel, the University of Plymouth and the Cyprus Institute. - The company works from **London, Basel and Brooklyn**.
