# Laper > Laper is script-first AI screenwriting software. It combines automatic screenplay formatting, explicit AI reading and editing tools, Loro CRDT project synchronization, story planning views, and optional visual development while the screenwriter keeps creative authority. For the generated complete reference, see [llms-full.txt](https://laper.ai/llms-full.txt). ## Verified facts - The screenplay editor is the source of truth. Scene headings determine scene order and feed location entities; character cues feed character entities. - AI reads explicit cursor, outline, scene, range, node, or full scopes. Full mode is bounded to 800 screenplay nodes and reports truncation; longer drafts use outline plus targeted scene reads. - Approved AI screenplay edits execute through the active Plate editor and enter the normal Loro document path. - Collaboration uses Loro plus a dedicated lorosync service. Screenplay blocks are the conflict boundary; this is not marketed as character-by-character merging inside one paragraph. - Existing projects require an online server-first initial sync. An already-open project can retain pending updates during a transient disconnect and synchronize after reconnect. - Supabase Realtime never synchronizes screenplay or CRDT data. - AI media uses durable task and asset records. The API backend owns authorization, credits, status, retries, refunds, and persistence; the generation worker performs model calls and uploads. - Public community discovery includes only intentionally published public projects. Authenticated members can comment, like, and copy when permissions allow; copying does not edit the original. ## Core pages - [Homepage](https://laper.ai/): AI screenwriting software overview, comparison context, pricing snapshot, and feature tour - [Core Advantages](https://laper.ai/features/): Code-backed product feature collection - [Screenplay Editor](https://laper.ai/screenplay-editor/): Screenplay formatting and editor workflow - [Pricing](https://laper.ai/pricing/): Live plan, credit, and allowance details - [Download](https://laper.ai/download/): Desktop app for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows - [Blog](https://laper.ai/blog/): Screenwriting craft and software guides ## Core advantages - [AI Screenwriting Software](https://laper.ai/features/ai-screenwriting-software/): Product model, honest context boundary, comparisons, and current prices - [Screenplay Formatting](https://laper.ai/features/screenplay-formatting/): Typed screenplay elements, pagination, and export - [Script Structure Visualization](https://laper.ai/features/script-structure-visualization/): Screenplay-derived scenes, characters, and locations - [Real-Time Collaboration](https://laper.ai/features/real-time-screenplay-collaboration/): Loro architecture, node-level conflict boundary, and server-first opening - [Structured AI Context](https://laper.ai/features/ai-screenwriting-workspace/): Explicit read scopes and active-editor writes - [AI Production Assets](https://laper.ai/features/ai-production-assets/): Task and asset lifecycle - [Characters and Relationships](https://laper.ai/features/characters-casting-relationships/): Character board, relationship graph, and casting view - [AI Storyboarding](https://laper.ai/features/ai-storyboarding/): Scene-scoped shots, explicit camera settings, and continuity gates - [Project Entities](https://laper.ai/features/scenes-beats-props-locations/): Scenes, beats, props, and locations - [AI Script Doctor](https://laper.ai/features/ai-script-doctor/): Diagnosis-first screenplay review - [Open Screenplay Community](https://laper.ai/features/open-screenplay-community/): Public reading, comments, likes, and permitted copying ## Screenwriting craft guides - [How to Write a Screenplay](https://laper.ai/blog/how-to-write-a-screenplay/) - [Screenplay Format Guide](https://laper.ai/blog/screenplay-format-guide/) - [Three-Act Structure](https://laper.ai/blog/three-act-structure-screenplay/) - [Save the Cat Beat Sheet](https://laper.ai/blog/save-the-cat-beat-sheet/) - [Fountain Format vs FDX](https://laper.ai/blog/fountain-format-vs-fdx-screenplay-files/) ## Honest comparisons - [Laper vs Final Draft](https://laper.ai/alternatives/final-draft/) - [Laper vs WriterDuet](https://laper.ai/alternatives/writerduet/) - [Laper vs Celtx](https://laper.ai/alternatives/celtx/) - [Laper vs Sudowrite](https://laper.ai/alternatives/sudowrite/) - [Laper vs Highland](https://laper.ai/alternatives/highland/) - [Laper vs Fade In](https://laper.ai/alternatives/fade-in/) ## Current prices - Junior: $0 monthly and annual - Senior: $20 monthly or $192 annual - Elite: $60 monthly or $576 annual - Master: $100 monthly or $960 annual - Legend: $400 monthly or $3,840 annual Credit and project allowances are server-driven.
