# landmine

> landmine is an open-source CLI (npm package `landmines`, MIT, by Devansh Ranjan) that reads a project's lockfile, finds the open GitHub issues filed against the exact dependency versions it pins, and puts them where coding agents read them (AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md, a pre-edit hook, an MCP server), with each issue's workaround. On landmine-bench, the first public benchmark for avoiding known bugs in pinned dependency versions, Claude Sonnet 5.5 went from 86% to 99% on 21 held-out traps built from bugs filed after its training cutoff.

Quickstart: `npx landmines scan && npx landmines install --rules` (Node ≥ 22.12, a GitHub token). Works with Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, OpenCode, Kilo Code, Cline and 11 more; any agent can read the rules section or use the MCP server.

Hosted MCP server, no install or sign-in: `https://landmine.tech/mcp` (Streamable HTTP). Tools: `landmine_lookup` (open issues filed against exact npm/PyPI versions, e.g. `next@16.4.0`, `pandas==2.3.1`) and `landmine_check` (a code snippet plus the versions it runs on). Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http landmine https://landmine.tech/mcp`.
