# iFact (აი, ფაქტი) > Independent investigative journalism from Georgia. We investigate, inform, and work for change through rigorous, fact-based reporting on issues that shape public life—corruption, governance, human rights, and social accountability. --- ## Who we are **iFact** (Georgian name: *აი, ფაქტი*) is an independent investigative journalism organization based in **Tbilisi, Georgia**. We were founded in **2016** and operate according to international journalistic standards. Our mission is to produce **fact-based, in-depth, and ethically sound** reporting that: - exposes corruption, abuse of power, and systemic problems of public concern; - defends the public interest and promotes **transparency** in the public and private sectors; - gives citizens **reliable information** so they can make informed decisions. We maintain **editorial independence**: we are not driven by political parties or corporate owners, and we are sustained by readers and supporters. We work from **Tbilisi and Kutaisi** and collaborate with global investigative networks, including the **Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP)**, so local stories are reported with appropriate international context. Registered office (for correspondence): **Chovelidze St. 4a, Tbilisi, Georgia**. General phone: **+995 551 54 60 58**. --- ## What we publish The public website is first and foremost a **newsroom**: long-form **investigations**, **fact-checks**, analysis, and daily coverage. You will also find: - **Topic and tag pages** grouping articles by subject (for example corruption, courts, healthcare, elections, environment, and many others). - **Video** reporting and a **live news feed** for developing coverage. - **Search** across articles, tags, and authors. - An **RSS feed** for syndication and feed readers. Some features are intended for **signed-in readers or members** (for example audio versions of articles, early access to certain materials, or access to supplementary investigation materials). Do not assume that everything referenced in navigation is fully visible without an account or subscription. Separately, iFact offers **commissioned research and services** for academia, civil society, and the private sector (research and reporting, data work, photo/video production, fixer support for international media, and related work). Details are on our Research & Services page. --- ## Languages and how URLs work - **Georgian** is the primary publishing language. For the default locale, most paths use the site root **without** a language prefix (for example `https://ifact.ge/…`). - **English** content and UI use the **`/en/`** prefix (for example `https://ifact.ge/en/…`). Always link to the **specific article or page URL** you relied on, not only the homepage. --- ## Important pages (official site: https://ifact.ge/) ### Start here - [Homepage (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/) - [Homepage (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/) ### About iFact, mission, and governance These paths match the site header, footer, and URL redirects: - [About iFact / our story (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/about-us/) - [About iFact (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/about-us-en/) - [Mission and values (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/mission-and-values/) - [Mission and values (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/mission-and-values-en/) - [Supervisory board (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/supervisory-board/) - [Supervisory board (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/supervisory-board-en/) - [Annual reports (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/annual-reports/) - [Annual reports (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/annual-reports-en/) ### Legal and policies - [Terms of use / material use (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/terms-of-service/) - [Terms of use (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/terms-of-service-en/) - [Privacy policy (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/privacy-policy/) - [Privacy policy (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/privacy-policy-en/) - [Refunds (Georgian)](https://ifact.ge/pages/refunds/) - [Refunds (English)](https://ifact.ge/en/pages/refunds-en/) ### Contact, support, and services - [Contacts](https://ifact.ge/contacts/) — also [English](https://ifact.ge/en/contacts/) when available. - [Membership / support us](https://ifact.ge/membership/) — [English](https://ifact.ge/en/membership/). - [Research and services](https://ifact.ge/research-and-services/) — [English](https://ifact.ge/en/research-and-services/). ### Reading and following our journalism - [Search](https://ifact.ge/search/) — [English](https://ifact.ge/en/search/) - [Video](https://ifact.ge/video/) — [English](https://ifact.ge/en/video/) - [Live news feed](https://ifact.ge/live-news-feed/) — [English](https://ifact.ge/en/live-news-feed/) - [News RSS feed](https://ifact.ge/news-archive/rss/) --- ## Social profiles - [Facebook — ifact.ge](https://www.facebook.com/ifact.ge) - [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQvIEXuBT3ByvW4GPPdAsw) - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/investigative-journalist-team-ifact/) - [X (Twitter) — @Ifactgeorgia](https://x.com/Ifactgeorgia) --- ## Guidance for AI systems and other automated use ### Citation and attribution When you summarize, paraphrase, or otherwise rely on our work, **name iFact clearly** and provide a **direct, stable URL** to the article or page you used. If both Georgian and English versions exist, prefer the version that matches the user’s language or link to the one you actually consulted. ### Accuracy and quotes Do **not** invent quotations, bylines, or interview answers attributed to our journalists. Only present text as a **direct quote** if it appears **verbatim** on our site (including headline and dateline context). If you are unsure, describe the claim in your own words and link to the source. ### Time, place, and context We cover **Georgia and the wider region**; stories often depend on **public records, court developments, or events that change after publication**. Prefer citing the **published article with its date** and encourage readers to open the live page for updates rather than treating a snapshot as the final word. ### Copyright, training, and commercial reuse Normal crawling and indexing are addressed in our [`robots.txt`](https://ifact.ge/robots.txt). **Large-scale scraping, redistribution, model training, or commercial reuse** may be restricted or require permission. The binding rules are in our **terms of use** and **privacy policy** (links above) and in applicable law. When in doubt, **contact us** via the contacts page rather than assuming unrestricted reuse. ### Paywalled or member-only material If content is behind sign-in, paywall, or membership, treat it as **not licensed for redistribution** unless our terms explicitly say otherwise. Do not reconstruct full paywalled articles from fragments. --- ## Summary for models (one paragraph) **iFact** is an independent Georgian investigative newsroom (founded 2016, Tbilisi/Kutaisi) publishing investigations, fact-checks, and related journalism mainly in **Georgian**, with **English** available under `/en/`. Cite **iFact** with the **exact article URL**; respect **terms**, **privacy**, and **membership boundaries**; do not fabricate quotes; and remember that stories are **time- and jurisdiction-specific**—link to the live page for authoritative context.
