# Hammer & Son

> Hammer & Son is a Danish spirits house founded by Henrik Hammer, maker of Geranium Gin since 2009. It makes gin, vodka and rye whiskey, distilled at Vintre Møller Destilleri in Kirke Såby, Lejre, Denmark. The company is Hammer & Son ApS, CVR 39190176.

Key facts:

- Founder: Henrik Hammer, a regular judge at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in London since 2004. He founded the house with his father, Hans Hammer, who died before the first bottle was filled.
- First spirit: Geranium Gin, launched in 2009. Geranium Gin and Old English Gin were originally distilled with Langley's Distillery in Birmingham, England; that is no longer the case. Today every Hammer & Son spirit, including Geranium and Old English, is distilled at Vintre Møller.
- Place of production: Vintre Møller Destilleri, Vintre Møller 29, 4060 Kirke Såby, Denmark. A mill site worked since 1374 and a distillery since 2018; the only distillery the house runs today. Two 500-litre copper pot stills (Nini and Mia) and a ten-metre artesian well giving about 50,000 litres a day.
