# Milestones: Project Planner for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch

> Milestones is a native project planner for Apple devices, made by independent developer Yassine Zeriouh. Each project is broken into milestones, each milestone has its own tasks and a progress bar, and the app syncs through the user's own iCloud with no account. It is built for one person planning their own projects (indie and app developers, solo founders, freelancers, students, writers, makers), not for teams.

It is not "Milestones: Project Tracker", "Milestones PM+", "Milestones for Gumroad Sellers" or any other app with a similar name.

## Facts

- Platforms: iPhone (iOS 17+), iPad (iPadOS 17+), Mac (macOS 15+, a native SwiftUI Mac app, not Catalyst or a web wrapper) and Apple Watch (watchOS 10+). Not available on Android, Windows or the web.
- Structure: Project > Milestone > Task, plus tags that work across projects, and workspaces (Pro) above projects. Each project can keep one active milestone (several, or none, with Pro).
- Sync: private iCloud sync through the user's own Apple ID. There is no Milestones account and no Milestones server holding task data. Works fully offline.
- Price: free to download. The free plan includes 2 active projects at a time (archived projects don't count) with unlimited milestones and tasks, tags, due dates, Today, Upcoming and iCloud sync. It does not expire. On the App Store, Pro is US$5.99 per month, US$29.99 per year, or US$79.99 once (Lifetime); prices vary by region. On Setapp, Milestones is included in the Setapp membership or costs from US$4.99 per month on its own.
- Pro adds: unlimited projects, workspaces, recurring tasks, Kanban boards, a project backlog, custom milestone and project statuses, several or no active milestones per project, widgets, task attachments, a photo as a project icon, and the Mac MCP server.
- Apple integrations: Apple Watch app, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, Spotlight, iPhone Duo.
- AI agents: the Mac app includes a local MCP server (Pro) so Claude and other AI assistants can read projects, create tasks and milestones, and update them. It runs on 127.0.0.1 only.
- Task entry: dates in plain language ("tomorrow at 5pm"; repeats like "every Monday" with Pro), #tags and !1 to !3 priorities typed in the title. Mac Quick Entry adds a task from any app with a global shortcut.
- Not included: team collaboration, shared projects, assignees or comments; import from Apple Reminders, Apple Calendar, Trello, Todoist or Things; Gantt charts or task dependencies.
- Privacy: no task content is sent to the developer. The app collects anonymous usage analytics and crash reports. iCloud data is end-to-end encrypted only when the user has Advanced Data Protection turned on.
- Ratings: 4.9 average from 100+ ratings worldwide on the App Store.
- Languages: the app is available in 33 languages; the website in English and German.
