# Bruin > Bruin is an open-source, AI-powered data platform. Its Apache 2.0 CLI handles data ingestion (with ingestr), SQL and Python pipelines, quality checks, column-level lineage, catalog, and orchestration; on top of that governed data, an AI data analyst answers questions in Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, email, or the browser, builds dashboards from a prompt, and runs scheduled agents. Pipelines are plain files in your own Git repository and data stays in your own warehouse; Bruin Cloud is the optional managed layer. ## Core pages - [Home](https://getbruin.com/): AI data analyst and end-to-end data platform overview. - [AI data analyst](https://getbruin.com/ai-data-analyst/): Ask data questions, build dashboards, and investigate issues from chat. - [Slack AI data analyst](https://getbruin.com/ai-data-analyst/slack/): Ask governed company data questions from Slack. - [Product overview](https://getbruin.com/platform/): Ingestion, pipelines, checks, lineage, governance, and AI analysis in one platform. - [Ingestion](https://getbruin.com/product/ingestion/): Move data from SaaS tools, databases, files, and APIs with Bruin and ingestr. - [Security](https://getbruin.com/security/): SOC 2, GDPR, warehouse-native execution, RBAC, audit logs, and private connectivity. ## Open-source tools - [Bruin CLI docs](https://getbruin.com/docs/bruin/): Build data pipelines in SQL and Python, run checks, and manage assets locally or in CI. - [ingestr docs](https://getbruin.com/docs/ingestr/): Open-source ingestion CLI for moving data from many sources into warehouses and lakes. - [GitHub: bruin](https://github.com/bruin-data/bruin): Open-source Bruin CLI repository. - [GitHub: ingestr](https://github.com/bruin-data/ingestr): Open-source ingestr repository. ## Learn - [Bruin Academy](https://getbruin.com/learn/): Hands-on tutorials for AI analysts, Bruin Cloud, pipelines, and data apps. - [Bruin Cloud tutorial](https://getbruin.com/learn/bruin-cloud/): Create projects, connect data, enable pipelines, and use AI agents. - [AI data analyst tutorial](https://getbruin.com/learn/ai-data-analyst/): Build an AI data analyst connected to company data. - [SEO optimizer agent tutorial](https://getbruin.com/learn/seo-optimizer-agent/): Build a scheduled GA and GSC analysis agent. - [Data Engineering Zoomcamp Bruin companion guide](https://getbruin.com/learn/zoomcamp/): Unofficial companion for the free DataTalks.Club course, showing learners how to build a portfolio-ready Bruin pipeline with ingestr, SQL/Python transforms, checks, and lineage. - [Migrate Fivetran connectors to Bruin ingestr](https://getbruin.com/learn/fivetran-to-bruin-ingestr/): A staged, agent-assisted migration with a read-only Fivetran importer, review gates, and parallel validation. ## Comparisons and intent pages - [Alternatives to Airflow](https://getbruin.com/alternatives/airflow-alternative/): Compare Bruin with Apache Airflow for modern data workflows. - [Claude Dashboards vs Bruin](https://getbruin.com/comparisons/claude-dashboards-vs-bruin/): Claude Dashboards (beta, October 2026) writes a SQL query per chart on the warehouse you connect;
