# Freesat

> Freesat is a UK satellite TV service, providing television broadcasts through a satellite dish, with no monthly bills or contracts. Freesat is operated by Everyone TV Devices Limited and backed by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5.

Freesat delivers channels via satellite, received through a dish, so a working satellite dish and a Freesat 4K TV Box are required to watch. Freesat's 4K TV Boxes also bring together on demand players alongside live TV, using an internet connection. Recordable models allow shows to be paused, rewound and recorded. A TV Licence is required to watch live TV.

Freesat 4K TV Boxes work with most existing UK satellite dishes, including dishes previously used for Sky. The type of LNB fitted to the dish can affect recording capabilities.
