# Fore Studio

> Fore Studio is a small studio run by Atta Ur Rehman Shah that designs and
> builds its own Mac apps. Each app does its work on your Mac and does one
> job well. The studio also runs MacBase, a free directory of Mac apps, and
> a few web products from before it turned to the Mac.

Fore Studio does not take client work. Every product below is built, operated,
and supported by the studio itself.

## Mac apps

- [Flit](https://flit.fyi): Dictation that never leaves your Mac. Hold a
key, speak, and finished text lands in whatever app you are using while
you are still talking. Transcription and formatting run entirely on
device; one-time purchase, no subscription, seven-day free trial.
Available now for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon.
- [Vitals](https://vitalsmac.com): The Activity Monitor alternative for Mac.
Groups every process under the app it belongs to, so a working Mac shows
about 60 apps instead of about 1,000 processes, each with one figure for
memory, CPU, energy, disk and network. Keeps 30 days of history, alerts
when an app misbehaves, and lives in the menu bar. One-time purchase, no
subscription, 14-day refund. Available now for macOS 15 or later on Apple
  silicon and Intel.
- [MacBase](https://macbase.app): A free directory of the best Mac apps,
with alternatives, open source apps and member deals. Anyone can list a
Mac app for free; the studio's own apps are listed there too.
- [Levers](https://leversmac.com): A clean Mac screen, in one click. Before
you record or share your screen, Levers hides your desktop icons, Dock,
other apps and menu bar icons in one click, and puts everything back with
one click when you're done. Plus fifteen everyday Mac switches, in the
menu bar. One-time purchase, no subscription, 14-day refund. Available now
  for macOS 15 or later.
- SoundBar: A volume for every app, in the notch. Each app that plays sound
gets its own slider, mute, balance, ten-band EQ and output device. Coming
soon; its site will be soundbarmac.com.
- Rimlight: A screen-recording studio for macOS. Record, edit, and export
video, GIFs, or walkthroughs, all on device. Coming soon.

## Web products

- [StartupBase](https://startupbase.io): A launch platform and directory where
founders and indie makers ship products, reach early adopters, and collect
  reviews. A Product Hunt alternative.
- [AcquireBase](https://acquirebase.com): A marketplace for buying and selling
side projects and SaaS apps with zero commission on sales.
- [Emoji Anywhere](https://emojianywhere.com): A free Chrome extension that
adds Slack-style :shortcode: emoji typing to every text field on the web.
1,906 emojis plus 276 symbols and kaomoji; nothing leaves the browser.
