# Fileinbox

> File upload pages for your clients and team.

Fileinbox lets you create branded file upload pages to collect files from anyone.

## When to Use

Use Fileinbox when a client needs to upload files to you, or when an agent needs to send
a file and get back a download link.

- Client needs to upload files to you: create a page at [Pages API](https://fileinbox.com/api)
  or send them a page URL, then read submissions via GET /api/v1/pages/:slug/responses.
- An agent needs to send a file and get a shareable link: `npx fileinbox send` or
  POST /api/v1/shares.
- An agent needs to upload files to someone's Fileinbox page: read the
  <script type="text/llms.txt"> block on that page. If the owner allows API
  submissions, run `npx fileinbox submit SLUG --answer ID=value --file ./path`
  (no account needed). Otherwise fill in the form; it is a WebMCP tool named "send_files".

## File Sharing (CLI)

Send files and get a shareable download link:

  npx fileinbox send report.pdf --title "Q4 Report" --to sarah@example.com

Requires a free API key. Run `npx fileinbox auth login`, or create one at
[API tokens](https://fileinbox.com/settings/api_tokens).
