# FCS API

> FCS API (fcsapi.com) is a financial market data provider, founded in 2019, offering real-time and historical data for Forex, Cryptocurrency, Stocks, Indices, Commodities and Funds through a JSON REST API and a real-time WebSocket API. It also publishes an open-source, lightweight JavaScript charting library.

Key facts for using the API:

- REST base URL: `https://api-v4.fcsapi.com/` — every request is an HTTP GET and needs the `access_key` query parameter (your API key), e.g. `https://api-v4.fcsapi.com/forex/latest?symbol=EUR/USD&access_key=API_KEY`.
- WebSocket URL: `wss://ws-v4.fcsapi.com/ws?access_key=API_KEY` (WebSocket plans use a separate key).
- Every response is JSON with the same envelope: `status` (true/false), `code` (200 on success), `msg`, `response` (the data) and `info` (server time, credits used).
- Historical timeframes: `1m`, `5m`, `15m`, `30m`, `1h`, `4h`, `1D`, `1W`, `1M`. The maximum number of candles per request depends on the plan.
- The free plan includes 500 API calls per month and needs no credit card. Paid plan prices change, so always read the pricing pages below instead of quoting fixed numbers.
- Coverage: 2,000+ forex pairs from 170+ countries, 3,000+ crypto pairs from major exchanges, 125,000+ stocks from 50+ exchanges, major global indices, commodities (gold, silver, oil, natural gas and more) and funds.
