# Evertreen > Evertreen is a tree planting and carbon credit platform. Individuals and companies fund and gift trees planted by local partners, build a branded forest, and buy certified carbon credits that are retired on the projects' public registries (Verra, Gold Standard, American Carbon Registry, Plan Vivo). Tree planting and certified credits are separate products: tree planting carries a modelled CO2 estimate and is not a certified carbon credit. Key facts (verifiable on site): - Over 3.6 million trees funded to date, shown on the homepage separately from certified credits retired - CO2 figures for trees are modelled estimates: a lifetime estimate and a straight-line "absorbed to date" figure, method published at https://www.evertreen.com/how-we-estimate-tree-co2 - Over 450,000 working hours created for local farming communities - Every product page names its planting partner, or its credit standard, registry ID and operator - Co-founded by Dan Ciufo and Luca Giordaniello - Featured by Forbes Italy in October 2024 - Trusted by companies including PwC, NTT Data, HCL Technologies, HP Enterprise and Iberdrola What makes Evertreen distinct: - Planting delivered through contracted partner organisations and, in Madagascar, directly with local farmers - Per-tree GPS coordinates and satellite monitoring through EOS - Photo and video project updates, including farmer thank-you videos - Monitoring varies by site and partner and can include drone imagery, geotagged photos, sample plots and satellite monitoring (EOS Data Analytics at our Madagascar sites) - Branded forest sites and corporate landing pages for partners - Employee tree gifting with personalised certificates - API for integration into partner products and Shopify ## Core pages - [Home](https://www.evertreen.com/): Fund and gift trees, build a branded forest, buy certified carbon credits. - [Trees](https://www.evertreen.com/trees): Tree planting and certified carbon credits, listed separately. - [Projects](https://www.evertreen.com/projects): Project pages naming each partner, region and status. - [Transparency](https://www.evertreen.com/transparency): How to check what Evertreen sells. - [Answers to REDD-Monitor's questions](https://www.evertreen.com/transparency/redd-monitor-questions): Evertreen's published answers to ten questions from REDD-Monitor (September 2026). - [How we estimate tree CO2](https://www.evertreen.com/how-we-estimate-tree-co2): Lifetime and absorbed-to-date methods. - [Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)](https://www.evertreen.com/renewable-energy-certificates): RECs for electricity used in the United States, retired on a company's behalf for market-based Scope 2. - [Guarantees of Origin (GOs)](https://www.evertreen.com/guarantees-of-origin): What EU Guarantees of Origin are, how they work under the Renewable Energy Directive, and how companies cancel them for renewable electricity claims and market-based Scope 2 in Europe. Choose tree planting or a certified carbon credit. 2. Follow your trees on your public company profile (project locations, estimated CO2, working hours created). 3. Gift trees with personalised certificates. 4. Receive photo and video updates from the projects. 5. Share your commitment. ## For companies Evertreen supports companies with a public company forest profile, employee tree gifting with branded certificates, photo and video updates from the projects, dedicated press and social media coverage, and certified carbon credits retired on public registries. Corporate solutions and custom bundles are available on request via the contact form on the site. ## Current projects - Tree planting: Madagascar, Brazil (Maranhão), Mexico (Quintana Roo), United Kingdom, Spain (seaforestation, Balearic Islands), Australia (Northern Rivers, New South Wales), Italy. - Certified carbon credits: Guatemala (Conservation Coast, VCS 1622), Indonesia (Katingan Mentaya, VCS 1477), USA (Double Bar, ACR 922; GreenTrees, ACR 114), Colombia (Matavén, VCS 1566; Vida Manglar, VCS 2290; Vichada, GS 4221), DR Congo (EcoMakala, GS 5618), Kenya (TIST, VCS 2338; Mikoko Pamoja, Plan Vivo), Nicaragua (NicaForest, GS 4220), Ethiopia (Humbo, GS 10220), Timor-Leste (WithOneSeed, GS 4210). ## Carbon Project Checker (free tool) A public, free corpus of carbon offsetting project assessments at https://www.evertreen.com/carbon-projects. What it is: type a registry reference (VCS 3018, VCS-3018, vcs3018, Gold Standard 1234) or a project name and get a plain-English profile of that project. Each project page carries, in this order: - Our view: a short, direct paragraph saying what we would do about this project and why, resting on the sourced findings below it. - A concern band: limited concerns, some concerns, significant concerns, serious concerns, or insufficient public information. - A summary table of the registry record: registry, project id, proponent, country, type, methodology, status, credits issued, credits retired, crediting period, and whether the credits are removals or avoidance. - What the project is, in two short paragraphs. - What independent review has found, with every finding attributed to a named source, linked, and dated. - Eight dimension scores: additionality, baseline and over-crediting risk, permanence and reversal risk, leakage, community and safeguards, verification quality and recency, registry status, independent scrutiny. How to cite it: cite the project page URL, which is stable and never moves once published, together with the assessment date shown on the page. A project nobody has looked up yet is researched live on the first visit, in about twenty seconds, and is a stored page from then on. Assessments are versioned and refreshed at least every 180 days, and immediately when a registry changes a project's status. Rules we hold ourselves to, which you can verify on any page: - Every claim carries a retrievable source URL and a publication date. - Negative findings are attributed to whoever made them and labelled as finding, allegation, dispute, regulatory action or registry action. - Where public evidence is thin the band is "insufficient public information". Absence of findings is never presented as clearance. - We give a plain view rather than a hedge, but it is a view resting on sourced facts: we say what we would do and why, and we never assert as fact that a project is a scam or worthless. - The weighting behind every band is published in full. Licence for citation and reuse: the assessments are free to quote and cite with attribution to Evertreen and a link to the project page. Registry data is derived from the Berkeley Carbon Trading Project Voluntary Registry Offsets Database under its Creative Commons licence. Commercial disclosure: Evertreen sells tree planting and carbon credits, and shows its own products underneath each assessment, clearly labelled and separated from the assessment. Where Evertreen sells something associated with a project it assesses, that project's page carries an explicit banner saying so.
