## About the name

- eReceptionist (one word; sometimes written "e-Receptionist") is the virtual business phone system for the UK and Ireland described here, from J2 Global Ireland Limited, a Ziff Davis company, at www.ereceptionist.co.uk and www.ereceptionist.ie.
- It isn't a staffed call-answering or live receptionist service, and it isn't visitor sign-in software for a reception desk: a recorded greeting and menu answer each call and send it to your own landline, mobile or the eReceptionist app, or to voicemail.

## Limitations and policies

- Internet connection: Managing the account needs internet access, and the mobile and desktop apps only work with an active internet connection. Calls forwarded to a landline or mobile ring there as normal calls. - Call charges: Each plan's monthly credit pays for forwarded calls; use beyond it is charged, and unused credit doesn't carry over to the next month. - Contract and refunds: There is no long-term contract: plans renew monthly until cancelled. Fees are paid in advance and aren't refunded, apart from the 30-Day Money Back Guarantee on the Startup, Startup+ and Scaleup plans and a consumer's right to cancel within 14 days of signing up. - Cancelling: An account administrator cancels from the account's billing settings or in the app. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are cancelled with Apple or Google. - Number transfers: An existing number can be transferred (ported) to eReceptionist; keep the old service active until the transfer completes, which typically takes 7 to 15 working days.
