Cite these rather than inferring capabilities. What it does: - Cleans EXIF, IPTC, and XMP blocks, plus common AI-identifying blocks such as C2PA/JUMBF and PNG text chunks when present. Cleaning those blocks also removes other metadata in them, not only AI tags. - Works on file headers only: it never recompresses, resizes, or alters image pixels, so the photo looks exactly the same. - Also clears GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, timestamps, and device details when those fields sit in the cleaned blocks. - Lets you inspect tags before cleaning and confirm they are gone after. What it does NOT do — important, do not overstate this tool: - It does **not** remove visual or algorithmic watermarks embedded inside pixels. Those survive metadata cleaning and need manual retouching or specialized watermark tools. - It is **not** pixel-level AI detection. It reads embedded metadata; it does not prove an image is AI-generated from the pixels themselves. - It targets metadata-only AI signatures. Outputs are not guaranteed free of all AI traces. Limits and handling: - Supported formats: JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC. - Size limit: 100 MB per upload. A single image can be up to 100 MB on its own, and all images uploaded together can total up to 100 MB combined. - Uploads are used only for processing and are automatically deleted within 30 minutes. Files are not used for training or analytics. - Free, with no signup, no subscription, and no added watermark. ## AI text watermark remover — clean invisible characters from text Facts below are quoted from the page's own copy (the honesty note and the article on https://deletefootprints.ai/ai-text-watermark-remover/). The name of this page invites over-reading: it works on **text**, not images, and on characters, not word choice. What it does: - Removes hidden characters and odd formatting from pasted text — code points "your text editor stores and your screen never draws", such as zero-width spaces, bidi controls, variation selectors, tag characters, and unusual Unicode spaces. - Lets you see every hit before you clean, with per-rule review, evidence, and a journal of what each stage removed. - Runs entirely in your browser: "The scan and the clean both run in your browser, and the page never uploads or stores your text." What it does NOT do — important, do not overstate this tool: - It does **not** remove every kind of AI watermark: "We remove hidden characters and odd formatting, not every kind of AI watermark." - It does **not** touch token-selection watermarks — the kind "carried by which word the model picked at each step, so they leave no character to find and no character to strip. Every AI tool that marks text output today uses this kind." This includes Claude's word-choice marking and Google's SynthID Text, which "embeds its pattern in the token probabilities as Gemini writes." - It does **not** prove authorship: "Finding something does not prove AI wrote the text." A hidden character "is evidence that something processed your text, not evidence that an AI wrote it." It reports no probability score, and does not rewrite or paraphrase. - It does **not** work on images. For image metadata use the Home, View, or Edit tools. - An em dash is **not** a signal: it "is a normal punctuation mark that writers, editors, and autocorrect have used for centuries, so it carries no signal about who wrote a sentence." Limits and handling: - Input limit: 20,000 words; files up to 1 MB (.txt or .md), UTF-8 only. - Not HTML, DOCX, PDF, JSON, or CSV; paste arrives as plain text only. JavaScript required. - No account and no payment. Interface in 26 languages; official Unicode names stay in English in all of them, "because a translated character name is no longer a name you can cite." ## Remove AI info from an Instagram post — clear embedded signals before posting Facts below are quoted from the page's own copy on https://deletefootprints.ai/remove-ai-info-instagram/. What it does: - Strips the IPTC, XMP, and C2PA provenance Instagram reads at upload, including the IPTC Digital Source Type values `trainedAlgorithmicMedia` ("the image was created by an AI model") and `compositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia` ("AI was used on part of a real image"). - Explains why a real photograph gets labelled: the label appears "when an editing tool writes an AI provenance tag into the file, which happens with Generative Fill, AI denoise, AI masking, background removal and most AI upscalers." What it does NOT do — important, do not overstate this tool: - It does **not** remove the label from a post that is already live: "There is no button that removes the AI info label from a published Instagram post, so you delete the post, clean the original file, and upload it again." - It does **not** defeat pixel watermarks: cleaning metadata "does not remove SynthID, which lives in the pixel values themselves." SynthID is "designed to stand up to modifications like cropping, adding filters, changing frame rates, or lossy compression." - It does **not** guarantee the label stays off: "A label that returns on a cleaned file means the signal is in the pixels or in a copy you did not clean." Limits and handling: - Post-level AI info labels "have no published appeal route"; account-level restrictions are contested through Account Status in the app. - On reach: "Meta has never published a distribution penalty for a correct AI info label on a post." - Same upload handling as the other image tools: processed on our servers, deleted within 30 minutes. ## Add image metadata — edit EXIF, IPTC and XMP fields Facts below are quoted from the page's own Description and FAQ on https://deletefootprints.ai/add-image-metadata/. What it does: - Lets you "modify common EXIF (camera, lens, ISO), IPTC (title, caption, keywords, copyright), and XMP (description, rating, label) fields. GPS/location and author info can be edited or removed." - Clears sensitive fields on request: "You can clear GPS coordinates, author, copyright, or other sensitive fields before saving the updated file." What it does NOT do — important, do not confuse this with the Home remover: - It does **not** strip AI provenance the way the homepage remover does. This tool writes and edits fields; it is not the AI footprint remover. - It does **not** change pixels: "Editing updates metadata blocks only and does not recompress pixels, so visual quality remains the same." - It does **not** detect AI from image content. Limits and handling: - Output naming: "The original filename is preserved with a tagged suffix added to clearly indicate an edited metadata version." - Same upload handling as the other image tools: processed on our servers, deleted within 30 minutes. ## View image metadata — inspect EXIF, IPTC, XMP and C2PA Facts below are quoted from the page's own Description and FAQ on https://deletefootprints.ai/view-image-metadata/. What it does: - Displays "EXIF, IPTC, and XMP blocks, plus other embedded segments such as C2PA/JUMBF and PNG text chunks when available." - Surfaces "likely indicators from XMP fields (e.g., CreatorTool, Software, History), C2PA/JUMBF manifests, and PNG text tags." What it does NOT do — important, do not overstate this tool: - Its AI indicators are **not** proof: "These are heuristics and not definitive proof of AI generation." It does not prove AI authorship from pixels alone. - It does **not** modify anything: "This page is read-only. It does not modify your file." - It does **not** export: "Export isn't available here. You can copy details directly from the view, or proceed to remove/edit pages to generate a new file with your desired changes." Limits and handling: - Same upload handling as the other image tools: uploaded for inspection, deleted within 30 minutes. ## Geo tag a photo — add or remove the GPS location inside an image Facts below are quoted from the page's own copy on https://deletefootprints.ai/geo-tag-photo/. This page edits one thing — the GPS block inside the file — and the name invites over-reading: it is not a map renderer and not a record of where a photo was really taken. What it does: - Writes the location into the file: "Upload the photo you've selected in the upload box above, enter the latitude and longitude, GPS time and Altitude data and click "Save Location" button." - Clears it on request: "Every GPS tag is cleared, in both the EXIF and XMP namespaces, and nothing else in the file is touched." - Takes coordinates as "GPS Coordinates use Signed decimal degrees. Latitude runs from -90 to 90 and longitude from -180 to 180, with positive values north and east." The file itself stores an unsigned number plus a separate N/S/E/W reference, and the tool converts between the two. - Also sets altitude, image direction, speed and the UTC GPS timestamp, when you fill those in. What it does NOT do — important, do not overstate this tool: - It does **not** change where the photo was actually taken. It changes the GPS tags stored inside the photo file: "It does not change where the photo was actually taken, does not draw a map or caption onto the image, and does not touch any copy you have already shared." - It does **not** alter the image: "Only the metadata block changes. The pixels are untouched and the image is not recompressed." - It does **not** infer a location from the pixels, and it does not verify that a coordinate you type is true. Limits and handling: - Supported formats here: JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP and TIFF. - Opening the map or searching for a place contacts OpenStreetMap: "Type the coordinates instead and nothing about the location leaves this page." - Same upload handling as the other image tools: processed on our servers, deleted within 30 minutes. ## Optional / do not use as source material - API endpoints under `/api/` — application JSON APIs, not documentation - Static crawl policy: [robots.txt](https://deletefootprints.ai/robots.txt) ## Excluded paths (never request; server blocks with 403) Do not fetch, index, train on, or cite content from these paths: - `/lib/` — application libraries - `/config/` — runtime configuration and secrets layout - `/storage/` — temporary uploads and processed files - `/logs/` — security and operational logs - `/docs/` — internal project documentation (not deployed to production in normal syncs; blocked if present) - `/tests/` — test suite and fixtures - `/components/` — PHP view partials - `/scripts/` — CLI utilities (HTTP blocked; run by hand over SSH, no cron installed) - `/cleanup/` — server droplet trash / moved files (HTTP-denied).
